What We Believe
The Celestial Church of Christ is a Spirit-filled Pentecostal denomination rooted in the authority of Scripture, the power of the Holy Spirit, and the centrality of Jesus Christ. These are the foundational beliefs that unite every Celestial Church of Christ parish in every nation.
The Holy Trinity
We believe in one God — Father, Son and Holy Spirit — three Persons, one eternal God. God the Father is Creator and Sovereign. Jesus Christ is Lord and Saviour. The Holy Spirit is Comforter and Guide.
The Holy Bible
We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God — the final authority for all matters of faith, doctrine, and conduct. We hold the Scriptures in the highest reverence.
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the active, present power of the Holy Spirit — manifested through spiritual gifts, signs, wonders, prophecy, healing, and the transformation of lives by God’s grace.
Prayer & Holiness
We believe in the power of prayer as the foundation of the Christian life, and in holiness as God’s standard for His people — set apart in conduct, character, and devotion.
Salvation by Grace
We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone — not by works, but by the atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross and His resurrection from the dead.
The Great Commission
We believe in the mandate to preach the Gospel to every nation — that every soul may hear the Good News of Jesus Christ and have the opportunity to receive eternal life.
The Celestial Church of Christ Way of Worship
The Celestial Church of Christ has a rich and distinctive worship tradition that sets it apart while remaining firmly rooted in Biblical Christianity. These distinctives reflect the unique way God moved through Prophet Oshoffa and the early church.
White Garment (Sutana)
Members worship in white garments as a symbol of purity, holiness, and surrender to God. The white garment is a sacred Celestial Church of Christ tradition rooted in Revelation and the call to clothe oneself in righteousness.
Barefoot Worship
Members remove their footwear before entering the church — acknowledging that where God is present is holy ground, just as Moses was commanded at the burning bush (Exodus 3:5).
Candles & Incense
The use of candles and incense in worship reflects the Biblical patterns of the tabernacle and the prayers of the saints rising before God as sweet incense (Revelation 8:4).
Spiritual Gifts
Prophecy, healing, deliverance and the gifts of the Holy Spirit are central to Celestial Church of Christ worship. We believe these gifts are active and available to the church today as they were in the early church.
“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
— Matthew 18:20
This is the heartbeat of our community — gathering in His name, worshipping in Spirit and in Truth, and carrying the light of the Gospel to every corner of the earth.
