The grace of God is His undeserved favor and generous action toward people who could never earn His acceptance. Grace is not God pretending sin does not matter. At the cross, grace and holiness meet as God provides salvation through Jesus Christ.
Grace and Salvation
Ephesians 2:8–9 teaches that believers are saved by grace through faith. Titus 2:11–14 adds that grace not only brings salvation; it trains believers to reject ungodliness and live faithfully.
Grace Is Not Permission to Sin
Romans 6 rejects the idea that grace gives Christians permission to continue deliberately in sin. Grace changes our relationship with God and begins a transformed life.
Grace in Weakness
In 2 Corinthians 12:9, the Lord tells Paul that His grace is sufficient and His power is made perfect in weakness. Christians therefore depend on grace not only at conversion but throughout discipleship.
How Do We Grow in Grace?
Grow through Scripture, prayer, worship, Christian fellowship, repentance, service, and obedience empowered by the Holy Spirit. These practices do not purchase grace; they place us where we continually respond to God’s truth.
